Healthy Skin is Beautiful Skin
By Jeanette Hawkinson

Healthy skin is beautiful skin, and you will radiate good looks through the care of your skin. You have always known to apply sunscreen and moisturizer as part of your daily care, to use a good cleanser and to take off your makeup before bed each night. Now, with as much time as you have before the wedding, you can pamper your skin for that healthy, lovely glow. If you are going to try new products, just be sure to start several months before the wedding, so you do not risk irritations and breakouts before the big day.

All skin experts agree that the steps to good skin are cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and protecting. Choose your products with care; get a good skin care expert to recommend the right products for you, and – most importantly – take your own steps to care for your skin. In addition to applying the right cleansers and creams, you will encourage healthy skin by incorporating the following smart skin-care practices:

Drink plenty of water. Hydrated skin is less dry and healthier.

Get plenty of sleep. The body’s cells need sleep to replenish, and a lack of sleep gives you those dark, aging circles under your eyes.

Get plenty of exercise. Exercise, you know, is good for your heart and your body, but it also brings a healthy glow to your skin.

Use sunscreen. Yes, we all feel like we look better with a tan, but the damage to your skin is not worth it. Avoid tanning beds, as some intensifier creams can burn the living daylights out of you.

Avoid self-tanners. Some people get good results, but if you are not well-practiced, you don’t want to be an orange-streaked mess.

Use moisturizers at night. Invest in a good nighttime skin cream and apply it according to directions.

Use wrinkle-erasing creams like L’Oreal Plenitude Line Eraser Daily Treatment.

Use under-eye creams. If you have dark circles or puffy bags under your eyes, start a solid, regular regimen of applying a quality under-eye cream like Vita-K Solution gel.

Moisturize your lips. Dry, chapped lips can split and crack, and at certain times of the year, your lips will be drier than others.

Apply foot moisturizer and then cotton socks at night.

Moisturize your hands. They will be on display.

Moisturize your décolletage and neck. They too will be on view, and it’s a good idea to start a skin care regime for these areas now.
